The
Mathematics Department at Ryerson is an academic unit within FEAS; our
group is multidisciplinary in its research activities and offers a wide
spectrum of courses serving other departments at Ryerson University.
Enriching and extending our interaction with other departments is one
of our major goals since mathematics is at the core of most sciences.
We believe that by means of cross-fertilization with other academic
departments we will greatly strengthen our capabilities both at the
teaching and research level.
The Undergraduate Program in Mathematics and its
Applications started in September 2008 (http://www.math.ryerson.ca/bachelor.php)
.The
program has been designed to make use of the versatility of
mathematics by being interdisciplinary in nature. Students will study a
core of mathematics and also take a number of courses in an area of
specialization: Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, Computer
Science, Economics, Finance, or Physics. The program is part
of the Contemporary Science Programs at Ryerson.
The graduate program Master of Science in Applied
Mathematics is scheduled to start in Fall 2009. Official
information about the program will be made available at the School of
Graduate Studies' web site during Fall 2009. Some preliminary
